Abstract:

plasticizers are small and non-volatile molecules which to improve thermal and mechanical properties of polymers are added to it. One of the most important  problems of  plasticizers is migration to the outer surfaces of polymer matrix and thus reduce the mechanical and thermal properties and aging the polymeric material. In recent years to fix the problem related to the migration of plasticizers, reactive plasticizers are introduced. In this approach these REPs contain an activated terminal alkyne group that is expected to give rise to azide-alkyne 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, and prevents the migration of plasticizer to the external surface of polymers. In this study Propargyl Terminated Poly Glycidyl Nitrate(PTPGN)( an reactive energetic plasticizer) was synthesized, identified and characterized by DSC,GPC, FTIR and 1HNMR.The result of GPC  showed that the Mn is about 731 g/mol. The plasticizer has oligomeric structure. DSC thermogram showed that the glass transition temperature is -66.50C.

Glycidyl nitrate is a valuable chemical used for manufacturing poly (glycidyl nitrate) as an energetic polymer. In this study glycidyl nitrate was synthesized by ring opening reaction of epichlorohydrin by nitric acid as nitrating agent in the presence of several different catalysts, and the effect of different catalysts on one pot synthesis of glycidyl nitrate was evaluated. The main purpose o...

In this paper investigates an energetic imidazolium ionic liquid plasticizer (ILP)  effect on the degradation kinetics of nitrocellulose, which is a important component of double based solid propellants. For better comparison and evaluation, diethyl phthalate (DEP) plasticizer, which has a structure similar to ILP, was also evaluated. Heat of combustion analysis was performed to evaluate the en...

Plasticizers are small molecules with low molecular weight. These compounds typically have an esteric structure. The plasticizers reduce the glass transition temperature and the viscosity of the polymer to enhance the flexibility and processability of polymer materials. The main problem with these additives is that, over time, they migrate from the polymeric matrix and exude to the surface of p...

Recent approach in the field of design and manufacture of the propellant and explosive has led to the use of energetic ingredients. Introduction of energetic plasticizers as a replacement of commonly used inert plasticizers is another approach to improve the energy level of propellants. In this meantime, energetic compound based on organic azids were attracting a lot of attention. The poor mech...

Binder has a key role in the performance of composite propellants. The binders are classified into two neutral and high-energy categories. GAP is one of the most important energetic binders, but it has poor mechanical and thermal properties. The goal of this investigation is to improve the properties of GAP by copolymerizing it with polycaprolactone. New energy triblock copolymer was synthesize...
